Front Range is a geological term loosely describing the range of mountains that border the praries. Above is an aerial photo of the eastern edge of the Rocky Mountains, directly west of Calgary, Alberta. In North America, the Front Range is the edge between two vast regions of the continent, the Great Plains and the Rocky Mountains.
